Never to be

Another kick in the guts

But I refuse to let the bitter disappointment derail me;

Instead I shed another tear,

For the stillborn relationship that is us,

And wait for the labour pangs to begin – when the shrivelled , black, lifeless form will be expelled;

And we will give it a respectful funeral,

Then I’ll wait,

And when the time is right,

A miraculous new creation will begin to grow,

Baby steps at first,

Then nourished with happiness and joy, freedom and passion, love and respect,

Flourishing – holding nothing back,

A new life will be revealed.
